Currently, she is studying in the Humanitarian Action (NOHA) Programme at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. She has a great interest in human rights issues and democracy, particularly in post-conflict countries. Driven by her passion and interest in human rights and democracy, she enrolled in a semester student exchange at Uppsala University, Sweden, where she had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in peace and conflict studies.

Ms. Sidabutar has worked in the field of Indonesian human rights advocacy and security sector reform in some institutions in Indonesia. During her work, she was responsible for handling research on human rights issue in Indonesia for national and international advocacy. She has worked in Human Rights Working Groups, Imparsial and Pacivis University of Indonesia.

She joined Thirdway in the autumn of 2009 as an International Flexible Intern  in the Human Rights Centre, as she continues her studies in the NOHA Programme.  Her great passion to work in a NGO motivated her to apply for an internship at Thirdway. As she believes that NGO’s have a close connection with the people and often can mediate the voice of the people in need to the international community, she hope by working in Thirdway she can experience and broaden her knowledge on human rights issue, particularly women rights, in Ghana.
