I'm Calvin Nelson 17 years born in Liberia raise in the refugee camp.........My dad got killed during the civil war in my home country Liberia I was brought to Ghana by my auntie along with my small brother, we've been living in the refugee camp since 1998. The refugee camp used to be sponsor by UNHCR and some NGO's but support haven't been coming since 2005. my auntie left my brother and I with a friend and she travelled to Nigeria 2005 since then we've not heard or seen her the friend who my auntie left us with kick us out of the house and since we've being living alone. I'm presently out of school I stop in 11 grade I was sponsor by an NGO but the sponsorship has stop and the NGO has return to Liberia , I don't have a home I sleep in an internet cafe here on the camp, during the day I go around dumping site searching for old scrubs to sell to get something to eat and I've been doing this since 2007 ,I sometimes get so fed up with it cos it get me sick most time, the money I should've used to eat all get spend in the Hospital . Life is so frustrating here on the refugee camp most days without food and water. I've always wish to become a chemist and it's my prayer with God above and the help of Good people I achieved my dreams.....I believe together we can make this universe a better place for Life .......I beleive am an agent of change ........and you too can be the same . |

[We met Calvin about a month ago and, impressed with his intelligence, asked him to occasionally blog for us and tell his story. Thankfully, he agreed. --Editors]
